Platforms

Expert across the four platforms most UK businesses choose

We are platform-agnostic: we recommend the tool that matches the business, not the one with the fattest partner margin. Certified in SAP, SAGE and our own HiveOrbis ERP; expert across INFOR, Xero, QuickBooks and SAP S/4HANA as well.

Xero

Best for product and service SMEs that want modern UX, strong app marketplace and easy multi-currency.

QuickBooks

Strong for sole traders and micro-businesses; competitive pricing and good self-assessment integration.

SAGE

Deep payroll and construction (CIS) features; Sage 50, Sage 200 and Sage Intacct for scaling mid-market.

SAP S/4HANA

Enterprise finance, controlling, SD, MM and manufacturing on SAP's latest platform — plus expert-led ECC → S/4HANA migration (greenfield, brownfield or selective).

Our own platform

Three tools we've built — so you don't have to

Not every business needs a full ERP. Some need just the MTD bit, or just payroll, or a lightweight ERP that sits between Xero and SAP. Our Hive family fills those gaps.

HiveOrbis

Our cloud ERP for SMEs — sales, purchasing, inventory, basic MRP, and finance in one place. For firms that have outgrown Xero but don't need the weight of SAP S/4HANA.

ERP

HiveMTD

HMRC-recognised bridging software for Making Tax Digital — covering both MTD VAT and MTD ITSA. Submit quarterly updates, EOPS and final declarations straight from Excel or our web portal.

MTD VAT · MTD ITSA

HivePayroll

Payroll, timesheets, attendance and leave management in one app. RTI, auto-enrolment, P60/P11D. Integrates with HiveOrbis and the major general ledgers.

Payroll & HR

Clients on a full MMCA engagement get the Hive tools at a preferential rate.

FAQ

Common questions about ERP engagements

Are you tied to a particular platform?

No. We are certified in SAP, SAGE and our own HiveOrbis, and expert across INFOR, Xero, QuickBooks and SAP S/4HANA. We recommend the platform that fits the business — not the one that pays us a bigger commission. If a simpler tool would do, we'll say so.

How long does a typical implementation take?

Cloud set-up (Xero / QuickBooks): 2–3 weeks. Sage 200 / Intacct migration: 8–12 weeks. SAP S/4HANA (FI/CO + SD + MM + Manufacturing): 16–36 weeks. ECC → S/4HANA migration varies with approach (greenfield is often faster, brownfield minimises disruption). Actual timeline depends on data complexity, integrations and availability of your team for UAT.

What about historical data — do you migrate transactions?

Opening balances always, current-year transactions where feasible, and prior-year history when it's worth the effort. We reconcile at every step so you have a clear audit trail. For many mid-market clients we migrate 1–3 years of history and archive the older data as read-only reports.

How is client data protected during migration?

Data stays in UK/EU data centres. Transfers are over encrypted channels. Access is strictly least-privilege and logged. We sign a Data Processing Agreement before any migration. See our Privacy Policy for detail.

Can you just train our team on an ERP we already have?

Yes. We deliver standalone training on Xero, QuickBooks, SAGE, VT Transactions, Moneysoft and HMRC Basic PAYE Tools. Remote or on-site, priced per day.

Do you support post-go-live?

Always — every engagement includes a defined "hypercare" period (typically the first month-end). Beyond that, we offer a monthly retainer with a clear SLA. No surprise invoicing.

HiveMTD — our Making Tax Digital bridging tool

HiveMTD is MMCA's HMRC-recognised bridging software for both MTD VAT and MTD ITSA. More at hivemtd.com.

What is HiveMTD?

HiveMTD is MMCA's HMRC-recognised bridging tool for Making Tax Digital. It lets you file both MTD VAT and MTD ITSA submissions directly from Excel or through our secure web portal, without needing a full ERP. It is ideal for businesses that keep their books in spreadsheets or in software that isn't natively MTD-compatible.

Does HiveMTD work for both MTD VAT and MTD ITSA?

Yes. The same account covers both regimes. For VAT, you submit quarterly (or monthly) VAT returns that HMRC accepts through their MTD API. For ITSA you send the quarterly updates, end-of-period statements (EOPS) and final declarations that HMRC requires from self-employed individuals and landlords.

Is HiveMTD HMRC-recognised?

Yes. HiveMTD is listed on HMRC's recognised MTD software lists for both VAT and ITSA. You can check the current listing on gov.uk or at hivemtd.com.

Do I need to change my accounting software to use HiveMTD?

No. HiveMTD is a bridging tool — it sits between your existing records (typically Excel, Sage 50, or any other system) and HMRC's gateway. You keep using whatever tool you're comfortable with; HiveMTD translates the numbers into the format HMRC needs.

How is my data secured in HiveMTD?

Data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest. Files uploaded for filing are retained only as long as legally required for audit, then purged. Hosting is in UK data centres. A Data Processing Agreement is in place for every paying client. See the HiveMTD privacy notice at hivemtd.com.

What does HiveMTD cost?

HiveMTD is available on a low monthly subscription, with volume tiers for accountants and multi-business users. Clients on a full MMCA engagement get a preferential rate. Current pricing is published at hivemtd.com.

Can my accountant file on my behalf using HiveMTD?

Yes. HiveMTD supports agent filings. Your accountant authenticates once against HMRC's Agent Services Account, links your VAT or ITSA record, and files on your behalf. You can view and download every submission.
